By Unkiedev Oh good grief, here we go again. One thing I LIKE about independent comic book publishers is they have to have better ideas to stay afloat. If the small presses can’t tell stories the big three (or four) haven’t touched then they may as well pack it up and go home

Alright, people, I got a lot of problems and now you’re going to hear about them.

Last month, we saw Batman go corporate, to much critical acclaim , but corporations don't live on good reviews and word-of-mouth. No, what corporations need are profits, profits, profits! And in that case, Batman Incorporated has passed with flying colors in the first quarter of the financial year, to the tune of three million dollars that it moved in November just by selling comics.

Inside you'll find the sales estimates for comics and trade paperbacks for November 2010 with DC's "Batman: The Return" easily topping the monthly charts and "The Walking Dead vol 13" leading the trades.

But even the sales of top comic books (Batman, X-Men) are decreasing every year, and so the comic book companies find themselves placating an increasingly shrinking fan base, with no real strategy for attracting new readers. ...

With the fifth volume of his "Diary of A Wimpy Kid" series high on the sales charts, Jeff Kinney muses on keeping his comics smart and juggling Hollywood's needs while his characters face "The Ugly Truth" of puberty.

The latest series to receive the dreaded cancellation axe is the much beloved Thor: The Mighty Avenger by Roger Langridge and Chris Samnee . An all-ages romp and reinvention of Thor's earliest adventures, it was critically acclaimed though not doing so hot in the sales department. A story that many fans are quite familiar with, with the book joining the ranks of Atlas , Captain Britain and MI13 , and S.W.O.R.D

The MAX line in Marvel comics only has a few books in it’s stable, of which the most reliable and long running is the Punisher MAX title, currently created by Jason Aaron and Steve Dillon . Sadly, we haven’t see much of this title in over six months, with the latest issue, number 9, being released back in July

Marvel held its "Point One" press conference call Tuesday afternoon, with editors Tom Brevoort and Axel Alonso and SVP - Sales David Gabriel talking about the February-debuting .1 issues.
